14 Books that Remind me of Spring

Another day another post for Bookending Spring! I’m very excited to recommend all of my most Spring-y books for you. To be completely honest, most of the books made it onto this list exclusively because their cover involved either flowers or some form of pastel. Apparently that’s all I associate with spring: pastel & flowers. (florals? for spring? groundbreaking.)

I’ve added a few books on here that I’ve read and believe would be perfect for spring as well as some unread books I’m itching to get my hands on this season. Sometimes you see a book and you immediately think SPRING.

Books that Remind me of Spring
Self-explanatory: Share which books remind you of springtime! It can be because of the cover, maybe they actually takes place during the spring months, whatever. The options are limitless!

This wonderful prompt was created by Theresa @ The Calico Books. Please be sure to head over to her blog to check out her content along with the original post!

Emergency Contact | Mary H.K. Choi

There’s just something about this pastel cover that *screams* spring to me. The budding romance held within doesn’t hurt either. I know this book is a bit of a love it or hate it situation, but I happen to be one of the readers that fell in love. The slow burn romance was just so cute, and definitely worthy of a read to jump start spring imo.

Flame in the Mist | Renee Adhieh

Cherry blossoms anywhere only remind me of spring. I actually can’t recall if there is even one mention of cherry blossoms in this book, but regardless the cover is all out spring.

Save the Date | Morgan Matson

This book centers around a huge family and their preparation for a wedding when everything that can go wrong will. Weddings immediately make me think of springtime. That paired with the beginnings of new romance, this book is a perfect cute contemporary to read this season.

I Believe in a Thing Called Love | Maurene Goo

More flowers, more romance. Are you sensing a theme yet? If you’re at all interested in kdramas, this is required reading for you. I can guarantee every kdrama trope you’ve loved/rolled your eyes at can be found in this book. If you’re looking for a laugh-worthy contemporary with some adorkable romance, this is the one for you.

Fangirl | Rainbow Rowell

This shade of pink immediately brings me to spring. This is a college setting contemporary with one of the cutest romances I’ve ever read. It’s sickly sweet and follows a famous fanfiction writer which is definitely a plus.

P.S. I Like You | Kasie West

Another of my all-time favorite romances. This one is a hate-to-love story and it is executed so brilliantly. If you’ve ever read a Kasie West, you know she’s the queen of all things contemporary.

Let’s Talk About Love | Claire Kann

Another very cute YA contemporary romance following an asexual biromantic main character. The romance in here is so sweet and a perfect read for spring.

The Belles | Dhonielle Clayton

I couldn’t write a post about spring worthy books without adding this book whose cover is basically the epitome of spring. This is a fantasy all about “belles” who can bring color and beauty into their world.

Blue Spring Ride | Io Sakisaka

This is one of my all-time favorite manga series. And with spring in the title, how could I not add it to this list? It’s a slice of life manga and has a very heartbreaking/cute romance. I’m actually really interested in rereading this since it’s been a couple years! Would also definitely recommend watching the anime adaptation.

Field Notes on Love | Jennifer E. Smith

This is where we get into the want to read territory. This is a book I no nothing about other than that the cover is beautiful and also makes me think of spring. I’m always looking for new contemporaries this time of year, and this one is definitely on my radar.

I Love You So Mochi | Sarah Kuhn

I know I said previously that cherry blossoms immediately remind me of spring, and here I am again with that exact reasoning. How could you see this cover and not be reminded of spring weather??? It’s so cute. All I know about this story is that it has an amazing cover and is set in Kyoto, one of my favorite Japanese cities.

Somewhere Only We Know | Maurene Goo

Whenever Maurene Goo comes out with a new book, I am morally obligated to put it on my tbr. This one happens to come out in spring, and thus will be considered the perfect spring read. It’s also a contemporary romance which is the perfect type of book for this time of year.

Red White & Royal Blue | Casey McQuinston

This is another May release that is giving off the ultimate springtime vibes. Pastel cover paired with an adorable m/m romance? Yes, please. I’m hoping to read this book asap.

Wild Beauty | Anna-Marie McLemore

This is a book I’ve owned for months now, but have just not gotten around to reading. I no nothing about it other than that I believe it’s magical realism and the cover looks like it was made for spring. That’s all I’ve got for you.

Aaaaah some awesome picks here Ashley! I’ve been meaning to add Maureen Goo’s books onto my TBR for ages now. Also florals and pastels totally remind me of spring, particularly pinks and greens though
