Well Met by Jen DeLuca
Publication date: September 3rd, 2019
Synopsis
All’s faire in love and war for two sworn enemies who indulge in a harmless flirtation in a laugh-out-loud rom-com from debut author, Jen DeLuca.
Emily knew there would be strings attached when she relocated to the small town of Willow Creek, Maryland, for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident, but who could anticipate getting roped into volunteering for the local Renaissance Faire alongside her teenaged niece? Or that the irritating and inscrutable schoolteacher in charge of the volunteers would be so annoying that she finds it impossible to stop thinking about him?
The faire is Simon’s family legacy and from the start he makes clear he doesn’t have time for Emily’s lighthearted approach to life, her oddball Shakespeare conspiracy theories, or her endless suggestions for new acts to shake things up. Yet on the faire grounds he becomes a different person, flirting freely with Emily when she’s in her revealing wench’s costume. But is this attraction real, or just part of the characters they’re portraying?
This summer was only ever supposed to be a pit stop on the way to somewhere else for Emily, but soon she can’t seem to shake the fantasy of establishing something more with Simon, or a permanent home of her own in Willow Creek.
My Review
wait maybe I should started working at a renaissance faire??? haha jk … unless??
This was so freaking cute omg. The tension between the two main characters OOF it had me.
Basically, they hate each other in real life but when they don their Ren Faire attire, the tension ignites. They play a game of attraction that I can’t tear my eyes away from. Believe me, you will feel the attraction/tension and you will die.
I didn’t love how the resolution played out and that’s probably the main reason I didn’t give it a higher rating. Based on everything that happened, I feel like it was resolved too easily. Possible just my opinion, but would love to hear your opinions!
This is such an easy ready, and will have you dreaming about dreamy Ren Faire pirates for weeks after. Please read it and please let me know when you do so we can squeal about the cuteness together.
For real tho, if anyone wants to go to a Ren Faire with me hmu
*Thank you to Edelweiss and Berkley for this review copy!

yesssss please read it! It was so so cute
I need to read this. I’ve always wanted to go to a ren faire so this seems like the perfect setting for a rom book. awesome review 🙂
ahh thank you! 🙂 I didn’t realize how badly I wanted to go to one until I read this hahah
I’ve been eager to read this for a while. The notion of a ren faire in a romance gives me the FEELS <3 I'm glad you enjoyed this and also pointed out the ending being resolved too easily. That's something that irks me if I'm not forewarned haha. Great review 🙂
ahhh thank you! yes the romance was delicious despite any misgivings i had about the ending haha
