All the books I need to read before the end of the year | a kind of tbr

Wow look at that. 2019 is almost over (????????) I literally don’t know how this year went by already. It still feels like we should have half the year left somehow. Anyways, as usual I have too many books I need to read before the year is over. I have decided to share my reading (shame) list with the rest of the world. For some reason.

So, if I don’t read all of these books by Dec 31, please feel free to yell at me about it.

And in no particular order, a bunch of books I should read soon:

The Flatshare | Beth O’Leary

I bought this book a month or two ago and I thought I was going to read it right away. I did not. I know it’s about two people sharing a flat and one has it during the day and one at night. They never see each other and communicate through notes? I think? Sounds cute. I’m in.

Still Life With Tornado | A.S. King

I have only read one A.S. King book which I don’t understand. Weird magical-ly books are my fave and I’m pretty sure she does it better than most.

Station Eleven | Emily St. John Mandel

People talk about this book all the freaking time and I have no excuse why I haven’t read it yet. Read it, self!!!

The Girl He Used to Know | Tracey Garvis Graves

I got an arc of this from bookcon, last year? and still have yet to read it. I know it’s romance and it made it to the goodreads semifinals so will probably be at least pretty good?

Emma in the Night | Wendy Walker

I’m pretty sure this is a YA thriller and I never like YA thrillers but I am crossing my fingers. The cover is sick and I’ve heard some good things from bookternet ppl. PLS!

The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories | Ken Liu

I know this is a short story collection filled with sci-fi (?) stories and that is it!

A Million Junes | Emily Henry

I don’t know anything about this but I was obsessed with the other Emily Henry I read and that is enough for me!

The Priory of the Orange Tree | Samantha Shannon

I’m not gonna lie, I would be surprised if I got to this one this year. I know it’s a f/f fantasy and has dragons. And that’s all I need to know

Wild Beauty | Anna-Marie McLemore

I love their writing and I know I will love of their books. Can’t wait to read this one.

Now Entering Addamsville | Francesca Zappia

At this point we’re getting to arcs I should have read months ago and I have no excuse. I know this is mysteries and ghosty and tell me why I didn’t read this in October????

The Tenth Girl | Sara Faring

Creepy YA thriller set in South America at a boarding school? Yes. Please.

The Wedding Party | Jasmine Guillory

I didn’t love the first book in this series, but I really hope this one is different!

When the Moon Was Ours | Anna-Marie McLemore

I feel like this is the point in the list when either no one is reading or you are questioning how tf I am supposed to read all of these books in a month and a half. I love their writing and I want to read it now!!

The Weight of Feathers | Anna-Marie McLemore

Another one by the all-mighty Anna-Marie. Can’t wait to hold this story in my brain 🙂

The Queen of Nothing | Holly Black

This book comes out in like 3 days and I WILL be reading it the week of release *hopefully the day of release*

Recursion | Blake Crouch

I don’t know anything about this book, but I loved Dark Matter so hopefully I will love this one as well

Crier’s War | Nina Varela

I have a freaking arc of this and somehow managed to not read it before release. Shameful!!! I know its sci-fi and f/f and that’s it

Lifestyles of Gods and Monsters | Emily Roberson

I haven’t heard anyone talk about this one, but I got an arc of it and I love the cover.

My Lovely Wife | Samantha Downing

I know this is supposed to be a weird and creepy thriller and this couple possibly kills? people? Not sure. We will find out.

The Merciful Crow | Margaret Owen

I started this and couldn’t really get into it. I’m going to try at least one more time before I actually give up on it. I don’t really know what it’s about. Castes? Magic? A prince?

Hello Girls | Emily Henry and Brittany Cavallero

I’ve also tried reading this before and didn’t love it. Once more chance and then I am going to say good bye and hello to 2020 new me new year new books
